Disgraced paedophile pop star Gary Glitter has been ordered to pay one of the women he abused £508,800.
The 79-year-old, whose real name is Paul Gadd, was jailed for 16 years in 2015 for sexually abusing three schoolgirls between 1975 and 1980.
He was released from jail last year and strapped with a GPS tag only to end up back behind bars for breaching his license conditions.
In February a victim sued Glitter for hundreds of thousands of pounds in damages, and now the High Court has ordered him to pay up putting his fortune and Regent Street penthouse on the line.
Richard Scorer, Head of Abuse Law at Slater & Gordon who acts for the claimant, said: ‘In making this award the court has properly acknowledged the appalling abuse suffered by my client.
‘Whilst no amount of money can make up for horrific sexual abuse, the award at least goes some way to recognising the devastation inflicted on my client throughout her childhood and adult life.
‘Gadd’s refusal to engage with the process merely proves his utter lack of remorse, something we will be reminding the parole board about if he makes another application for early release.

‘We will be pursuing Gadd for payment and will continue to support our client through this process.’
A source previously told The Mirror this will not be the last time Glitter has to pay out of his £6 million fortune, as other accusers may follow suit.
‘Glitter is a serial sex offender,’ they said.
‘There are three victims who all took part in the legal process through his trial. And he has offended people abroad.
‘There are feared to be more as well. His wealth and fortune, which is still vast despite everything, is being looked at.
‘He will be worried he will lose it all.’
Where is Gary Glitter now?
In 2012, Glitter was arrested as part of an inquiry set up to investigate accusations of sexual abuse against scandal-riddled BBC host Jimmy Saville.
Glitter was convicted three years later on one count of attempted rape, four counts of indecent assault and one count of sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 13.
He was released from HMP The Verne in Dorset last year, with justice officials deciding to let him carry out the remaining half of his 16-year sentence on probation.

Yet Glitter was sent back to prison within weeks for violating the terms of his protection – the Ministry of Justice did not disclose what the singer did, though tabloid reports suggested he viewed downloaded images of children.
With his sentence set to end in 2031, if released at full term, he would be 86.
Judge Alistair McCreath said he found no evidence that Glitter had done anything to atone for his actions, and the impact of the three victims are words that will stay with him.
‘You did all of them real and lasting damage,’ the judge said in his sentencing remarks.
‘And you did so for no other reason than to obtain sexual gratification for yourself of a wholly improper kind.’
