Apprentice jockey flown to hospital in critical condition after fall from horse

An apprentice jockey has been critically injured in a fall at a training track in South Australia.

Emergency services were called to a private property at Finniss, on the Southern Fleurieu, south of Adelaide

It’s understood apprentice jockey Chelsey Reynolds suffered serious head injuries after falling from her horse.

She was flown to the Flinders Medical Centre.

Racing South Australia confirmed the accident occurred while she was practicing.

“We are providing support to Chelsey’s family and will provide an update on her condition as soon as we are able.,” it said in a statement.

Just last week Reynolds won best first year apprentice at Racing SA’s Apprentice Awards.
