One of Scandinavia’s top amusement parks is being reduced to nothing more but ashes after a fire broke out earlier today.

Plumes of black smoke are drifting over Goteberg, Sweden’s second-largest city.

Firefighters appear at a loss as to how the blaze was triggered, reporting that they could not bring it under control.

Footage shows the Oceana water park at Liseberg park completely hidden behind a wall of flames and smoke.

What was a cheerful blue water slide now appears to be a melted mess. and only the steel structure remains standing.

The alarm was raised at 10.06am, with the flames spreading out of control after an explosion moments later.

Debris from buildings were scattered over the burning waterslides, some of which were still under construction.

Multiple buildings, including a hotel, in the area have been evacuated in the hours after.

No injuries have been reported yet in connection with the fire, but it is unclear if there were workers in the building when the fire broke out.

Once completed, Oceana was to include an indoor swimming area of almost 6,000 square meters and a 4,000-square-meter outdoor swimming facility.

Plans also call for a restaurant and a hotel. The park said up to 1,750 guests can visit the park at a time.
