Manhunt underway in Queensland for sex offender wanted in three states

A manhunt is underway in Queensland for a convicted sex offender, who allegedly fled from police in Victoria.

Allan Hopkins, 44, is wanted in South Australia for an alleged sexual offence involving a child under 18 years old.

Hopkins was seen at a hotel drive-through in Adelaide’s east on May 2.

The following day he was seen at a pharmacy in Millicent, in the states south-east, driving a Mazda BT50 Ute.

He was in Victoria on May 4, where he allegedly fled from police during a roadside intercept.

Then he was seen again on the Barrier Highway in New South Wales on May 6.

Police believe he may be in south-east Queensland, with investigators currently trying to find him.

He is also wanted in Queensland for a separate alleged offence in the state.

Hopkins has previously been convicted of child sex offences, meaning he was being monitored under the South Australian Child Sex Offender Registration Act.

He is registered as a wanted sex offender on the South Australia Police Website.

Police are asking for anyone who may know his whereabouts to contact the Police Assistance line on 131 444 immediately.

He is described as caucasian and 185cm tall with a solid build.

He has short brown hair and brown eyes, with a skull tattoo on his upper right arm.
