Powerball jackpot jumps to $100 million

Millions of Australians are expected to purchase tickets in next week’s Powerball draw after the jackpot jumped to an eye-watering $100 million.

No one claimed the $60 million division one prize yesterday, which had the winning numbers of 6 18 32 3 1 18 12 and Powerball of 4.

But the good news is that it jackpots to $100 million for next week, becoming the sixth-biggest in Australian lottery history.

Up to half the country’s adults are expected to enter next Thursday’s draw.

Anyone who claims the top prize will break a long-running drought because there has been no division one winners during the past five Powerball draws.

Next week’s jackpot won’t be the biggest lottery jackpot of the year.

That was set In February when two winning tickets, belonging to a New South Wales couple and a Victorian woman, shared the record $200 million Powerball jackpot,

Despite no division one winner last night, $35 million was claimed with two people claiming $142,000 each.

The draw for the $100 million Powerball closes at 7.30pm next Thursday.
