Charges after bikie turned Tiktok star allegedly seriously assaulted

A man has been charged after a known underworld figure turned Tiktok star was seriously injured during a home invasion in south-west Sydney.

Three men armed with baseball bats allegedly broke into Wally Assaad’s granny flat, located at the rear of a home on Sturt Avenue, Georges Hall, at 4am on Monday, April 1.

The men allegedly confronted and assaulted 35-year-old Assaad, leaving him with serious injuries.

A 23-year-old man was arrested from a home in Georges Hall at 2.15pm yesterday in relation to the home invasion.

He has been charged with aggravated break and enter, committing a serious indictable offence inflicting actual bodily harm and aggravated entering of a dwelling in company with the intent to steal.

He was refused bail and will appear in Bankstown Local Court today. 

Investigators said on Monday that they believed the alleged attack was planned and targeted, as the men entered from the back of the property, using a bin to jump the fence.

They headed straight for the granny flat, police said.

Assaad had been entangled in Sydney’s criminal underworld and was a known bikie in Comanchero boss Tarek Zahed’s inner circle.

His brother, Hamad, was gunned down and killed in the driveway of the Georges Hall home in 2016.

It’s understood that Hamad was also heavily involved in the criminal scene.

Assaad has gained a following on the short-form video platform Tiktok.

The investigation continues.
