ITV’s Lorraine descended into giggly chaos on Tuesday after a guest accidentally called host Ranvir Singh by something that was not her name.

Ranvir has stepped in for usual host Lorraine Kelly this week, and after Monday’s episode saw her criticised for laughing at the idea of people still using libraries, Tuesday’s show was one to remember in an entirely different way.

The presenter was speaking to celebrity doctor Dr Amir Khan on the live show, as he discussed new research which indicated men who regularly took Viagra may have better memory than those who don’t.

Viagra is a drug prescribed to treat erectile dysfunction, but in Dr Amir’s mind, it might also be the name of the woman sitting in the presenting chair.

Because, in an almighty blunder, he began addressing Ranvir but instead called her ‘Viagra’.

The duo collapsed into fits of giggles as they realised what Dr Amir said, while he apologised profusely and labelled it a ‘Freudian slip’.

Viewers were loving the blunder, taking to X where user @MTF73 said it had ‘made my morning.’

Ranvir and Dr Amir moved on to complete the segment but it was clearly playing on Dr Amir’s mind, as later in the show Ranvir revealed she had just got a text from the celeb doctor.

Reading it aloud on air, Dr Amir had written: ‘I’m sorry I called you Viagra.’

‘Apology accepted,’ Ranvir announced, before adding cheekily: ‘I’ve been called worse.’

The hilarious slip-up comes after Ranvir was criticised by viewers for seemingly laughing at people who still use libraries.

Former The Wanted musician Jay McGuiness appeared on the show to discuss his new book, Blood Flowers, and revealed he had worked for hours every day in the library to write it.

To which Ranvir laughed: ‘The library! You’re such an old school soul. Who goes to the library anymore?’

Well it turns out plenty of people do — and they were not forgiving, taking to X to share their annoyance, calling it a ‘shame’ she spoke with such ‘disdain’ about the free community spaces.

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV and ITVX.
