Former First Lady Melania Trump smiled and embraced her husband, ex-President Donald Trump, at a gala after being largely absent and sparking speculation on her whereabouts.

Melania walked into the Mar-a-Lago Club ballroom ahead of her husband for the gala hosted by his fan club the Trumpettes on Saturday night. She had been seen only sparingly in recent months, amid her mother’s illness and death last month.

The former first lady, wearing a black sleeveless and belted jumpsuit, appeared in high spirits as she waved at the crowd. Her husband entered soon after and the two embraced and exchanged words for several moments.

Another video shot from a different angle showed Melania grinning and nodding to her husband before they headed toward the stage.

The Y.M.C.A. song played in the background and Trump did his infamous dance on stage that he has joked Melania hates seeing him do.

‘First of all, our great first lady,’ said Trump to cheers from the crowd.

Many social media users complimented Melania.

‘For all of the “Where’s Melania” haters, I found her,’ wrote conservative commentator Laura Loomer on X (Twitter).

‘She’s at her house at Mar a Lago looking hot with her husband, who just gave a speech at the Trumpettes event. She looks amazing too. A supportive wife supporting her super star husband who crushed it today in SC!’

Republican Brian Clowdus, who made an unsuccessful bid in a primary for a Florida representative seat, called it a ‘sweet moment tonight with Melania & Trump’.

‘Could she be anymore stunning?’ wrote Clowdus on X (Twitter). ‘Looking forward to seeing her on the campaign trail!’

Some regulars at the Trumps’ private Mar-a-Lago club noted in late December that Melania was rarely seen at their residence. She was missing from a family Christmas photo and it was soon revealed that it was because she was at the side of her mother, Amalija Knavs, who was hospitalized. Melania delivered a heartfelt eulogy to her mom’s funeral on January 18.

Melania has not been appearing alongside her husband on the campaign trail, but there are reports that she will soon be joining him as the 2024 election in November nears.

Attendees at the Trumpettes gala paid from $850 to $2,500 to attend, according to The Palm Beach Post, and nearly 1,000 were in the crowd.
