Four boys aged between 12 and 14 have been arrested on suspicion of rape.
Greater Manchester Police were called at 6pm on Saturday night to Newbold Metrolink station in Rochester, Greater Manchester, close to a Morrisons supermarket.
Four suspects, one boy aged 12, one aged 13 and two aged 14, have been arrested on suspicion of rape and are currently in police custody.
The victim, a female child, is being supported by specialist officers.
A swathe of land has been cordoned off by police and a forensics tent has been put up while the force investigates.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police told the Manchester Evening News: ‘At around 6pm on Saturday, officers were called to reports of a rape in Newbold, Rochdale.
