Three dead, woman fighting for life after head-on crash in NSW

Three people have died and one person is in a critical condition after a head-on crash in the New South Wales Northern Tablelands.

Police said two cars collided head-on at the New England Highway, Armidale, just before 7pm yesterday.

A 27-year-old man, who was driving a Holden, and his passenger, a 27-year-old woman, died at the scene.

A 41-year-old man. who was driving the second car involved in the crash according to police, also died at the scene.

His front-seat passenger, a 34-year-old woman, is fighting for life at Armidale Hospital.

Police have established a crime scene.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage has been asked to contact police.
