This year’s NBA 2K is out in early September and promises ‘the franchise’s most true-to-life basketball experience yet’.

Basketball fans are finally getting some detailed information about this year’s NBA 2K25, including the launch date, who’s on the cover, and what editions will be available for purchase.

There are also promises of new modes in MyTEAM, which is billed as ‘a more compact and interactive City,’ and a major improvement to the graphics, compared to NBA 2K24.

NBA 2K25 will launch on September 6, with the cheapest of the four editions costing £69.99, with pre-orders going live.

The cover athlete on the NBA 2K25 Standard Edition is reigning NBA champion and Boston Celtics’ Jasyon Tatum.

Tatum will be joined by two-time WNBA Most Valuable Player and Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson on the NBA 2K25 All-Star Edition.

2024 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall Of Fame inductee, Vince Carter, will grace the NBA 2K25 Hall Of Fame Edition.

NBA 2K25 will launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

However, only the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation5, and PC (as long as specs allows it) versions will be able to benefit from NBA 2K25’s newly evolved graphics.

‘Powered by enhanced ProPLAY technology, next-gen NBA 2K25 delivers the franchise’s most true-to-life basketball experience yet, offering players the ultimate control in how they dominate the competition,’ says NBA 2K.

Cross-play between formats will also only be available for next gen consoles, and while NBA 2K25 promises new game modes in MyTeam, it doesn’t specify what they are.

The Standard Edition will cost £69.99 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, with the PC version costing £59.99 and the Switch edition £49.99.

If you’re happy to pay more though, The All-Star Edition comes with 100,000 in-game currency and MyTeam content, and is priced at £89.99.

The Hall Of Fame Edition, at £129.99, has limited availability and comes with everything in the Hall Of Fame Edition plus a MyCAREER Vince Carter cover jersey, a Season 1 Pro Pass with rewards, and and 12-month NBA League Pass subscription.
