Ellen DeGeneres has cancelled a number of dates in her comedy tour without explanation.

Ellen, 66, is currently on her farewell tour Ellen’s Last Stand… Up which began on June 19th in San Diego.

The tour is taking place across the US, but four dates taking place in Dallas, San Francisco, Seattle, and Chicago have been cancelled.

A note on Ticketmaster’s website said: ‘Unfortunately, the event organiser has had to cancel your event.’

There was no explanation as to why these dates were cancelled and other dates taking place in the same cities are still taking place.

The events were set to take place on July 10th, 21st, 23rd and August 11th and other dates at the same locations are still taking place.

This is the comedian’s first tour since the end of her talk show The Ellen Degeneres Show which she led from 2003 until 2022.

During this comedy tour, Ellen has spoken about the toxic workplace scandal that erupted in 2020 as numerous anonymous employees from her daytime talk show The Ellen Show told Buzzfeed that there was an environment of ‘racism, fear and intimidation’.

‘I’m making jokes about what happened to me, but it was devastating,’ the former talk show host told her audience at an early tour date in Los Angeles.

‘It took a long time for me to want to do anything again,’ she added.

At the time, Ellen addressed the accusations on her show, telling viewers: ‘As you may have heard, this summer there were allegations of a toxic work environment at our show and then there was an investigation,’ she said.

‘I learned that things happened here that never should have happened. I take that very seriously and I want to say I am so sorry to the people who were affected.

‘I know that I’m in a position of privilege and power and I realised that with that comes responsibility, and I take responsibility for what happens at my show.’

In May, the star revealed on social media that her comedy show would be made into a special for Netflix.

She announced the news on Instagram with a caption that read: ‘Here we go! To answer the questions everyone is asking me – Yes, I’m going to talk about it. Yes this is my last special. Yes, Portia really is that pretty in real life.’

This Netflix special will mark her second comedy show collaboration with the platform, following her 2018 special titled Relatable.
