It’s probably not going to get any cheaper than this (Picture: Sony)
Technically, the cheapest PlayStation 5 deal this year is still at GAME, where you can buy the console for just £350. However, that’s only as part of a Frasers Plus Price deal, which involves a credit check and a buy now, pay later arrangement.
However, for just £10 extra you can get a PlayStation 5 with no strings attached and available to buy right now for £359.95.
The deal is from ShopTo on eBay and while they claim to only have limited stock they’ve already sold over 730 consoles since the offer went live.
Most Black Friday deals started last Friday but at first they didn’t include much in the way of console deals, but since Monday we’ve seen major price cuts for both the Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X/S.
The question now, is whether there’ll be even more consoles deals the closer we get to Black Friday itself.
There might be more bundles, but it seems relatively unlikely that the console on its own will go any lower than this – or the shops would be making no profit at all.
The PlayStation 5 is in a unique position this year, in that the original model is being phased out in favour of the new PS5 Slim.
They’re both functionally identical but because shops are trying to get rid of old stock it may be that the console deals this year are better than next year, when shops will have less incentive to sell cheaply.
There are similar discounts on the Xbox Series X/S but because Microsoft’s console has been trailing Sony’s so far this generation it’s seen sizeable price cuts too. Which has proven to be a bit of a perfect storm for bargain hunters.
