The new trailer for Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom has dropped but Amber Heard is missing in action.
The second teaser trailer arrived on Monday and sees Jason Momoa taking centre stage in his role as the titular superhero alongside Nicole Kidman as Atlanna and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta.
However, Amber, 37, who plays Aquaman’s love interest Mera, is nowhere to be seen in the short trailer which spans a minute and a half.
Reacting to her mysterious absence, one movie fan tweeted: ‘Where is queen Amber?’ while another said: ‘So they really did edit her out as much as they could haha.’
One commented: ‘No Mera? Get lost.’
Highlighting a possible blunder where the same shot of Nicole Kidman is used twice, another wrote: ‘The trailer showed the same shot of Nicole Kidman character, queen Atlanta, at the 0:41 mark and 1:01 mark. The editors just be doing anything so they won’t have amber heard character be in the trailers.’

‘The absence of Amber Heard within this trailer is really crazy,’ one viewer weighed in.
It was previously claimed that Amber would be cut from the film entirely in light of the controversy surrounding her libel trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp. However, she made a brief appearance as the Queen of Atlantis in the first Aquaman 2 trailer released in September. In the clip, she is seen for a split second thumping on a window before the trailer continues.
Amber said that her role had been significantly reduced for the second instalment but Aquaman director James Wan refuted her claims, saying the film was never going to feature Mera heavily.
‘I always pitched this to everyone from the get-go. The first Aquaman was Arthur and Mera’s journey. The second movie was always going to be Arthur and Orm,’ he told Entertainment Weekly.

‘So, the first was a romance action-adventure movie, the second one is a bromance action-adventure movie.’
Amber’s reputation took a massive blow during the trial against Pirates of the Caribbean actor Johnny in the summer of 2022. A petition was even launched to have her fired from Aquaman 2 and accumulated a staggering 4.5million signatures.
Aquaman 2 follows Black Manta as he unleashes an ancient and malevolent force after failing to defeat Aquaman, who in turn forges an unlikely alliance with his brother Orm, the former king of Atlantis to save the world from destruction.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set for release on December 22.
